Winners of the 2008 Season

The 3rd Annual Rockin B Croquet Tournament was held May 31st with a full slate of players attending. Hosted by Billy Bob and Debbie Breeden, tournament play began at 8am with 2 flights of competition played on 4 courts. Winners were: Championship Flight -- 1st Matt Smith, Warrensburg; 2nd Troy White, Rockville; 3rd Greg Clouse, Independence; 4th Billy Bob Breeden, Gallatin; 5th Johnny Nichol, Warrensburg; 6th Greg Adams, Kansas City. 1st Flight -- 1st Harvey Clouse, Overland Park (KS); 2nd Jodi Adams, Kansas City; 3rd Debbie Breeden, Gallatin; 4th Matthew Hostetler, Gallatin; 5th Tina Daniel, Pattonsburg; 6th Brian Montiel, Platte City.

Midwest Regional 6W Tournament was held in Tulsa, OK. The places and handicap tracking points are as follows: Championship Singles -- 1st Ruby, Britt 38; 2nd Cochran, George 48; 3rd Mitchell, Johnny 0; 4th Sheely, Rick 20; 5th Baird, Matt 0; 6th Weimerskirch, Mike 6; 7th Huttenhoff, Mickey 30; 8th Theiste, Dave 24; 9th Smith, Matt 46; 10th Ramey, Missy 0; 11th (tie) Caldwell, Jeff 0 and Griffith, Matt 0; 13th Parsells, Art 0. Winners of the 2007 Season

Lee's Summit Open -- A beautiful fall day brought out the competitive spirit in 17 new & diehard croquet players. Hosted by Greg Clouse & the Lee’s Summit Parks & Recreation board two flights of players battled it out for 1st place. Heading the winners list in Championship Flight were Billy Bob Breeden, Gallatin, Mo. 1st. Troy White, Rockville, Mo. 2nd.  Matt Griffith, Parkville, Mo. 3rd. Johnny Nichol, Warrensburg, Mo. 4th. Matt Smith, Warrensburg, Mo. 5th & Greg Clouse, Lee’s Summit 6th. "B” Flight winners were Dennis Langley, Blue Springs 1st, Teri Smith, Warrensburg, Joni Clouse 2nd , Greg Kent  3rd , Lloyd Wussow 4th  & Teri Smith 5th & Debbie Breeden, Gallatin, Mo. 6th.

A new chapter in Missouri croquet was written at the Midwest Open held in Warrensburg, Mo. Host by Don Brooks changed the states quo when 12 winners were proclaimed with the addition of a second flight for beginners & intermediate players. Not wasting any time to make their mark – Jeff Hathsoll Kansas City Mo. was named number 1 in B Flight. Following close behind was 2nd, Terry Smith, Warrensburg, 3rd Dennis Langley Blue Springs, 4th Debbie Breeden Gallatin, Mo. 5th Jake Foust Montrose, Mo. & 6th Jodie Adams, Parkville, Mo. Championship Flight winners were 1st Troy White, Rockville, Mo. 2nd Billy Bob Breeden, Gallatin, Mo. 3rd Johnny Nichol, Warrensburg, Mo. 4th Don Brooks Warrensburg, Mo. 5th Greg Clouse Lee Summit, Mo. & 6th Nick Zink Warrensburg, Mo.

Missouri men bring home the trophies -- Intense 6 Wicket Croquet competition was held Labor Day weekend in Tulsa, OK. Qualifying matches began Friday evening for three different flight levels with tournament competition beginning Monday morning. After 4 extremely hot days, three Missouri men came home with trophies. Billy Bob Breeden, Gallatin, Mo., won 1st place in the First Flight Singles Division; Matt Smith, Warrensburg, Mo., won 2nd place in the Championship Singles Division & 2nd place in the Championship Doubles Division; and Greg Adams, Parkville, Mo., won 1st place in Second Flight Doubles Division.

Billy Bob & Debbie Breeden hosted the 2nd Annual Rockin B Croquet Association Tournament on June 9th. Thirty-three participants put their skills to the test to a well attended crowd of spectators. With a come-form-behind win, Matt Smith, Warrensburg Missouri, won the 1st place trophy. Second was awarded to host Billy Bob Breeden, third Johnny  Nichol, fourth Mike McNeely, fifth Greg Adams & sixth went to Troy White. Participants came from as far away as Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lake Perry, Kansas. Rockin B Croquet Association has 15 members, and practices are held usually on Sunday afternoons.

The 7th Annual Pelican Ridge Open was held May 19th at Zink Farms in Warrens- burg, MO. Host by Matt Smith & Nick Zink, 24 energetic croquet players took to the courts to test their skills in the first tournament of the 2007 season. After enjoying a perfect day, Matt Smith was named Tournament Champ. Following the 1st place winner was 2nd JJ , 3rd Nick Zink, 4th Harvey Clouse, 5th Bob Nichol & rounding out the championship game was 6th Greg Clouse.
